This is Not a Card

It's time for another As You Like It Challenge.  This fortnight our challenge theme is Not a Card.  We want to see your favorite non-card project and you must include what it is your favorite.

This week our sponsor is:

A while back I decided to try making my own traveler's journal.  Here's what happened  -

The reason I chose this as my favorite non-card project is three fold.  I had some faux leather paper I wanted to try out, I wanted a way to keep track of myself and I just thought it would be fun to do something different.

I embossed the cover and colored it with a combination of distress inks.  The rest was put together by checking out Pinterest.  I had fun making it and it has been very useful in helping me (kinda) stay organized.

I can't wait to see your creations and see what you have chosen to make and why you have chosen it.  So, head back to the AYLI blog to link up your creation.  While you are there, check out the prize that's up for grabs and take a look at the gorgeous creations the DT made for you to see!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope your week is going well!

Aloha,
Brenda

Little Red Wagon - Down on the Farm with Janice

Little Red Wagon Challenge day again!  Janice wants us to create something the you might see 'Down on the Farm'.  I thought this fun Gerda Steiner image would be perfect.  Note the artistic license I took to change the sentiment from big hugs to big hogs...

I am hoping you will have a chance to create a Farm related creation and will link up with us over at Little Red Wagon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Aloha,
Brenda

PS - I love it when the planets align and I can make a card for one of my teams that will also work for another challenge.  This little tag will be linked to the Gerda Steiner Stamp of the month challenge.  If you want to join, just purchase this months image, link it up to the challenge and you will get next months image free!

TCP 332 - Word Up

It's TCP Tuesday again and we have a fun challenge for you.  We are calling it Word Up!  As you may have figured, we want you to feature words on your creations.  The Cat's Pajamas has a plethora of wonderful word dies and stamps.

Here's my card using the beautiful Always  and Stitched Hearts CutUps -

I did some watercolor smooshing and used the die to cut Always.  I then used the watercolored piece as one of the base layers.  A stitched heart CutUp and a few sequins were added for just a bit of pizazz.

Here are the details for our challenge -

  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat’s Pajamas blog and our Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat’s Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button by the Monday, 11:55 EDT before the next challenge.
  3. You are not required to use a Cat’s Pajamas stamp or die but if you have them we would love to see them.
  4. On the following TCP Tuesday, the winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10 or $15 if a TCP product is used.
For more ideas, stop in and see ChristineDeborah and Wendy.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations!

Aloha,
Brenda

I want to thank you all for joining us in our last 2 challenges.  I hope you'll join us again this week!

Aloha,

Christmas at CRAFT Challenge

It's time for another CRAFT Challenge!  We would love for you to join us this week in making and sharing your Christmas projects.

Our Sponsor this week is -

Here's my card using Dear Santa from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps -

I was still in the recycle mode and decided to use some old, yellowed watercolor paper.  I distressed and added some distress ink to the edges.  I then colored the picture with distress markers.  Kinda fun for a change of pace.

I hope you will be able to join us this week over at the CRAFT Challenge blog this week to share you Christmas creation!  Thanks for stopping by.

Aloha,
Brenda
